Co-op Responsibilities
Parents are asked to volunteer in the classroom throughout the year. Having parents in the classroom helps make the classroom run more smoothly, keeps tuition low, strengthens the relationship between the home and school environments, and provides a window for parents into their child’s life at school.
In addition, families participate in at least two classroom tasks per year.
These include activities like buying sand for the sandbox, cutting out shapes for a project, bringing a few pumpkins for Halloween, providing items (such as food) for school parties, and actively participating in the school’s annual fundraising efforts.
Highlands is operated by a parent Board, with parents leading the administrative jobs at the school.
